Gibson is a 37-year-old man, who has lost his wife, job, home, and all his possessions. He walks and sleeps in the streets of Portland, Oregon, as he tries to understand and process these catastrophic changes through his journal writing.
The reason Gibson feels compelled to remain in his isolated state on the streets, even while he meets and falls in love with Justine ( the co-owner of an international thrift store and theater company owned by her Greek mother, Esola). The reasons for his resistance to respond to Justine become apparent as we dive into the complexities of a soul rewriting the reason for his existence. Their relationship explores the transformational potentials and complexities of love and intimacy.
The story becomes a thriller as a serial killer hunts down other homeless people and Gibson’s psychic senses come alive as he suspects who the killer is. He also experiences other street encounters, including a crazed ex-CIA Special Ops Agent, who demands that Gibson write his life story, a young student prying too deeply as she tries to complete a school project on homelessness, and even a connection to otherworldly visitors who present a tantalizing offer that will ultimately benefit all life and people on earth.
