MY APPROACH TO ASTROLOGY

My approach to astrology emphasizes assisting clients in understanding their unique psychological-spiritual potential provided by the holistic cyclical rhythms of time depicted by their birth chart. I then interpret ways in which an individual can actualize their unique developmental potentials by interpreting the continued cycles of planets related to the natal chart.

“The different psychological functions of your psyche are constantly evolving through phases of cyclical development. This means you have the potential to continually become more adept and more refined in your behavior and responses to life.

The birth chart symbolizes what specific behaviors, characteristics, and psychological functions you are naturally inclined to develop and use as you express your individuality. I refer to these natural inclinations as your unique developmental potentials.”

BIRTH CHART REPORT – ALLOWING YOU TO INTERPRET THE POTENTIALS INDICATED BY THE SIGN AND HOUSE POSITIONS OF PLANETS AND KEY SIGNIFICATORS (MOON’S NORTH AND SOUTH NODES, ARABIC PART OF FORTUNE) IN YOUR BIRTH CHART

This report allows you to interpret and synthesize key symbolism in your birth chart. You will discover the personality qualities you are meant to develop and the areas of life where you are most inclined to channel your energies. You will learn how to blend the combinations of these archetypal patterns so that you can actualize your potentials in the ways that you consciously choose and that best suit you. I also include interpretations of planets that were in retrograde motion at your time of birth.

This report also includes a synthesis in which I discuss those qualities that flow well together and those that may require conscious effort to blend the qualities together in positive ways. It is important to remember that even contradictory qualities within our personality can be developed and blended in positive ways as you grow and mature through life. The psyche within each individual always strives toward balance and wholeness.

I realize that not everyone wants to learn how to interpret their own charts. Many people want an astrologer to synthesize the personality capacities (planets), ways of being (signs), focuses of daily experiences (houses), and how all the planets, signs, and houses are in dynamic relation to each other (aspects and other techniques). But if you do want to understand the underlying psychological-spiritual patterns that provide the meanings of the houses, sign and planets, and then develop the skills to interpret how you want to actualize these potentials in ways that you consciously choose – then this report will allow you to do this. I want to add that it is always beneficial to consult with an astrologer, yet learning the basics for yourself can be holistically beneficial. 

First, you will be introduced to the psychological-spiritual meanings of the planets, signs and houses, and how these meanings have been derived. I have provided a number of handouts that explain the meanings of the planets, signs and houses in psychological-spiritual terms, and explain how these meanings are derived from the study of phases of cycles. 

Second, you will learn what I refer to as  Creative Blending. You will learn how to blend the capacities within your psyche with the experiences in daily life and the ways you are meant to use these capacities and approaches in  life experiences. I provide you with the archetypal meanings of each capacity (planet), and then the focus of life activities and ways of being of each planet’s house and sign position. I guide you in understanding how you may in the past have chosen or not chosen to develop these potentials. Finally, this process of creative blending allows you to determine how you can choose to develop the blend of these potential qualities in the future.

My clients have shared that it has been  enriching to learn  the basics of the astrological holistic model – how the twelve signs and houses and corresponding connections to specific planets have derived their meanings. My clients have also expressed that learning how to blend each planet’s sign and house qualities in ways that allowed them to imagine and then choose their own unique ways of developing the potentials were ultimately satisfying and gave them more control over their choices of development and expression.

This process of interpretation does take time, and I suggest that you not try to rush through blending and understanding what each planet’s placements in your natal chart might mean for you. This is an opportunity for you to explore and choose how you may want to develop and actualize  your unique potentials.

To help you synthesize these different personality parts and potentials, I recommend that when you read and learn to creatively blend the qualities indicated using the above reports, make note of what resonates with you as reflecting how you see yourself. I also recommend that you make note of what parts of self you do not seem to relate to or how you see yourself. Then after you read the whole report, see if you can define the primary themes of your personality traits and potentials. Reflect on why you think you have chosen to develop some qualities and not others.

CURRENT TRANSIT REPORT – HOW THE CURRENT HOUSE AND SIGN POSITIONS OF MARS, JUPITER, SATURN, URANUS, NEPTUNE AND PLUTO CAN PROVIDE YOU OPPORTUNITIES AND CHALLENGES TO ACTUALIZE YOUR UNIQUE POTENTIALS

This report will allow you to understand how current transits of outer planets will provide you with opportunities and challenges to actualize your potentials.  As each outer planet transits through the twelve houses, your evolving developmental patterns and focuses are highlighted. Understanding these focuses can allow you to make more conscious choices as you continue to grow, make your own unique choices and balance yourself holistically.  I include a synthesis of the main themes of the transits and progressions at the end of report.

Astrology is a psychological-spiritual model that can assist you in becoming aware of how all the “cast of characters” (personality tendencies, ways of being, focuses of life experiences and potentials) within your psyche are interacting with each other in flowing and supportive, or initially challenging ways. 

I use the phrase “initially challenging ways” because some qualities represented by signs, houses and planets have qualities and potentials that are different from other qualities. You are required to become consciously aware and make specific efforts to blend these different qualities and to actualize this blend in positive ways of your unique individual expression. Of course, the flowing and supportive relationships between qualities also requires conscious efforts to actualize and integrate the qualities within the whole of your individuality, but these flowing qualities are generally more easily recognized and developed. This report can assist you in understanding the positive and effective ways the different sides of your psyche can work together. To continue with this metaphor used above, astrology is a tool that can allow you to be the director of your unfolding life drama.

The cycle of Saturn transiting the twelve houses of your natal chart indicates areas of life where you will have the opportunity and feel challenged to AFFIRM, DEFINE or REDEFINE yourself in mature and responsible levels of being. 

This cycle begins when Saturn crosses the Ascendant of your Natal Chart from the 12th house into the 1st house, symbolizing the end of one major 28-to-30-year cycle and the beginning of the next 28–30-year cycle of maturing holistically in the twelve archetypal areas of life (Houses). Saturn will transit or move through the twelve houses one by one. It takes about 2 to 3 years of Saturn to transit through a house.

When Saturn first moves into a new house, you may experience challenges such as restrictions, self-doubt or delays in the area of life symbolized by the house Saturn is transiting. You are being tested to mature and strengthen yourself in how you handle the area of life Saturn is transiting. If it is an area of life where you have not put a great deal of attention on or where you have not developed yourself in a constructive manner, then you may experience difficulties until you have developed your maturity and handle responsibilities in this area in effective ways. Saturn allows you to function in areas of life in a highly constructive and positive manner, and usually as Saturn transits through a house an individual experiences these positive outcomes as he or she matures (continues to take constructive actions and learns new lessons of being). To be challenged does not necessarily mean that “bad” or negative things will happen to you. The concept of “redefining” means the evolving cyclical phases of time means that we have opportunities to apply our skills and knowledge to different interests as we continue to grow and mature. 

While Saturn is in each house, you will be challenged to put significant focus on the area of life that house symbolizes. However, this does not mean that you ignore the other areas of life. One aspect of maturity involves leaning how to prioritize what to focus on during specific phases of time, while still being able to function in an integrated and holistic manner in all of the 12 areas of life as different moments might demand. The model of astrology allows us to understand and remain aware not only of the importance but also how to effectively integrate these various areas of life. In summary, maturing means learning from experience, self-study and meaningful guidance from others. Maturing also means learning to prioritize so that one can attend to the demands of the immediate moment, while still functioning in an integrated and holistic manner in the other areas of life.

RESCHEDULING, CANCELING OR MISSING AN APPOINTMENT FOR A CONSULTAITON:

I will discuss with you the circumstances that have occurred requiring you to change or miss an appointment for a consultation. If you reschedule or cancel less than 2 days before your appointment, I will expect payment for the consultation, but will allow you to reschedule one time without an additional fee.

• Focuses on questions you may have based on initial consultation. Follow-up consultations can focus on changes in your current circumstances and choices you are making to resolve important life issues and in actualizing your unique potential.

I will ask that you provide me with your name, email address, phone number, birthdate, time and place of birth. You will also need to provide your date, time, and place of birth. This information will be entered into my astrological database and will remain private. 

IF YOU DO NOT KNOW YOUR TIME OF BIRTH:

If you do not know your birth time, I will be able to calculate a Solar Natal Chart, which can provide valuable information regarding your unique inclinations related to the placements of planets in signs and the interrelations (aspects) between planets. I will focus on describing your ways of being and personality patterns. If you have your birth time, I will be able to calculate the Ascendant and the houses your planets were located when you were born. Then I will be able to describe the areas and experiences of life that you are inclined to focus on that will further assist you in developing your potentials. 

Check your birth certificate to see if your birth time has been recorded, which it often is. If your birth time is not listed on your birth certificate, it may be written in other places, or your parents may know. As noted, if you do not know your birth time, then a Solar Chart can be cast. If you become interested in using astrology as a tool for understanding and developing your psychological-spiritual potentials, a technique referred to as Rectification can be used to attempt to determine your specific time of birth. This technique may take a period of time and a number of consultations as we explore major life events as discuss your interests and inclinations in detail.
